Let's bowl, let's bowl, let's Rock-'n-Roll!

I think that the 3.4 rating for Grease 2 on IMDB is kind of a travesty. It may be no Grease, but it's got a campy charm all its own. Just check out some of the videos at the bottom of the post- fun, right? The "Reproduction" song always gets stuck in my head after listening to it!

Watching this movie makes me want to slide into a pencil skirt, put on some cat eye glasses and do the jitterbug.

Halloween Glamour

The Halloween post is totally overdue! Sorry about that... my modem shut down on me for a few days, I have no idea why. I hate technology sometimes.

I love the 40's and 50's decades and have so many vintage dresses I decided to go as a 1940's Lady. I took most of my inspiration from Rita Hayworth for the hairstyle and went a little bit Dita Von Teese for the makeup. Sorry for the crappy picture quality on the full body shots- my mom took them :S

Haute Hippie and the tale of the Blanket Poncho

It's getting so cold over here and I would love a huge pile of big knits to jump into. Taylor Momsen inspired me into getting the big black sweater from Forever 21 a few posts down. And I know that I've had a hate on for ponchos before (it's more those 90's sparkly knit gross things); I've since fallen in love with what Haute Hippie has to offer- although these ones are open at the front and not over-the-head. They've got a totally laid back feel and their whole line is super cool and relaxed... I can picture wearing everything sitting around a campfire keeping toasty warm.

Trick... or Treat?

Happy Halloween all! At the moment I am in my bathrobe, with absolutely giant puffy curly hair. Basically getting ready for tonight. I'm going as a 1940's Lady but with the way my hair is right now I have a feeling I could put on a crinoline and a bunch of necklaces, call myself Madonna circa 1985 and people wouldn't question it. Hopefully I can transform my look from bad perm to sleek retro 'do- pics will be posted in the next couple of days!

I'll leave you with one of my favourite Teen Vogue shoots from October 2004. Trick or Treat!

all along the eastern shore / put your circuits in the sea / this is what the world is for / making electricity

I'm still growing out my hair and I'm in the mood for a bit of a change. Maybeeeee... red hair? My hair is a fairly dark shade of brown so I would probably go for a darker red. Have any of you ever done an extreme hair color change?

Satellites gone / Up to the sky / Things like that drive me / Out of my mind

Yesterday I went to a memorial for a wonderful man who taught me during college. He is really one in a million, and will be deeply missed. To say that he 'worked' in the theatre community is an understatement, and it was amazing to see people from all over the Vancouver theatre community coming together to celebrate his life. Lloyd, you will be missed.
